About Ayesha
Ayesha came to the art of counseling after a successful career in media, business and development. Ayesha went to Brooks School, a small preparatory boarding school in North Andover, MA. It was here that Ayesha decided, at the age of 14, that counseling would be her long-term calling. Ayesha excelled in English and the Arts, graduating with Honors and eventually finding herself studying Psychology, Honors English and the Arts at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Ayesha graduated cum laude from Georgetown and decided to give Media Relations a try, quickly establishing a burgeoning career with Newsweek Magazine’s Communications department in New York City. Ayesha worked with the business and marketing side of the magazine as she assisted in booking and preparing Newsweek Editors for media appearances. Ayesha recalls some of her most compelling personal and professional memories being borne during Newsweek’s real-time coverage of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
After some time at Newsweek, Ayesha came to the conclusion that New York City was not a long term lifestyle fit for her, and she soon found herself in Central Florida working for a commercial real estate developer. Ayesha spent nine years in a full time capacity here and eventually left her post as the Vice President of Marketing, Services and Community Relations in order to further pursue her passion.
Having active roles at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in D.C., The United Way, The American Heart Association and The Early Learning Coalition did not fully quench Ayesha’s desire to support people’s growth and healing. As such, she returned to pursue a rigorous graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College where she excelled in her coursework and clinical hours and graduated with Honors again. From there she built a thriving private practice on North Park Avenue in Winter Park, Fl where she remains to this day.
Ayesha is a member of the American Counseling Association and Psi Chi Honor Society. She is EMDR Trained, MBTI Certified, DiSC Certified and an Accredited Facilitator for Patrick Lencioni’s ‘Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team’ model. Ayesha can be found in her office most days of the week. However, when she is not in session, she enjoys working as a corporate consultant, researching, writing, exercising, cooking and spending time with her family.
Ayesha loves nature, finds meaning in connection and believes always, that “whether or not it is clear to you, the universe is unfolding exactly as it should.”
